HNBA/VIA Corporate Connections & Speed Networking
A Signature HNBA/VIA Program at the Corporate Counsel Conference
Corporate Connections & Speed Networking is an annual HNBA/VIA initiative hosted during the HNBA/VIA Corporate Counsel Conference. The program is designed to foster meaningful business relationships between leading corporate law departments, federal agencies, and top legal professionals.
Through a focused and intentionally designed format, participating legal departments and agencies with hiring authority connect directly with experienced outside counsel in areas of identified legal need. The program also serves as a cost‑effective recruitment opportunity for organizations seeking to identify and engage highly qualified attorneys for both outside counsel and in‑house roles.
How the Program Works
The Corporate Connections Program is one of HNBA/VIA’s signature professional and business development initiatives. It promotes relationship‑building through a structured yet personal experience:
- HNBA curates talented pool of outside counsel.
- Corporations select the attorneys they wish to meet with.
- Each meeting lasts 15 minutes.
- Corporations may interview up to four applicants during the scheduled rounds.
This format allows participants to move beyond introductions and engage in substantive conversations that can lead to lasting professional relationships.
Interview Schedule
Interviews will be held during CCC2026 at Caesars Palace - Las Vegas. Join us on Thursday, March 12th, from 2:30 – 4:30 p.m. PST.
- Interviews take place in four structured rounds beginning at 2:30 p.m.
- Corporations should check in 15 minutes prior to their interview time.
- A Corporate Connections Reception follows the interviews from 3:30–4:30 p.m.
Who Should Participate
Legal Departments & Government Agencies
Corporate law departments and government agencies participate in Corporate Connections to:
- Identify qualified outside counsel in specific practice areas
- Explore future legal service partnerships
- Leverage the program as a recruitment pipeline for in‑house legal roles
- Strengthen their professional networks within the HNBA community
Attorneys Seeking Corporate Connections
The program is open to attorneys who meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Active HNBA member
- Six or more years of legal practice experience
- Registered participant of the HNBA/VIA Corporate Counsel Conference
- Affiliated with a law firm supporting HNBA at the Amigo level or higher
Eligible attorneys gain direct access to decision‑makers from corporate and government legal departments in a highly focused environment. Solo practitioners and law firms with 1-5 attorneys, please contact corporateconnections@hnba.com regarding alternative sponsorship eligibility and requirements.
